New data released by WWE shows that the 2014 SummerSlam event drew between 140,000 and 150,000 preliminary pay-per-view buys. This would be around 60,000 domestic buys and around 80,000 international buys.
This was up from the WWE Battleground pay-per-view, which drew 99,000 buys – 31,000 domestic buys and 68,000 international buys. This is also up from Money In the Bank, which drew 122,000 buys.
In comparison, the SummerSlam 2013 pay-per-view drew around 298,000 buys with 186,000 domestic and 112,000 international. Of course this was before the WWE Network.
